Ebonikz

Our thoughts & Prayers are with you during this time
Much love, HHH Magazine Family
Elijah Scott was born 1989 in Nassau County, New York. Creatively nick named Ebonikz because of his infatuation with the late Big L's song ; the name seemed to be a title that stuck with him throughout life. The New York native always had a love for music and has been literally and figuratively staying on beat ever since. While his peers may have just picked up on the lyrics of a rap song, Ebonikz was drawn to the actual music and instruments behind the lyrics. Inspired by Dr. Dre beats Ebonikz set out to make his very first beat at the age of 16. A child prodigy may be an understatement for the young beat maker, after his first beat he fell in love and continued to work at his newest hobby. As the cliché goes "practice makes perfect" and before he knew it he had went from making beats to fulfill his own personal passion, to making beats for money.
After moving to Virginia, Ebonikz stumbled upon a web-site called "daphatspot.com". This web-site was the marking of the beginning of Ebonikz's future illustrious career. It is also where he met his longtime friend and partner Knoxville. The site offered promising beat makers an opportunity to submit their work in an online competition. Ebonikz didn't know, but one beat he did in particular would be one of the most popular tracks in his arsenal. Ironically, it was a beat that he had thrown together for the most part and had not placed as much effort and emphasis on it like his other works. Despite all of that, the 16 year old Elijah submitted the beat which is now known today as "Get' Em Daddy". The track is from rapper Cam'ron's 2006 album "Killa Season". The hard hitting snared and sampled constructed beat was the 16th track on the album and seemed to be exactly what Cam was looking for. Most people remember the track as an energy filled emotional record that Cam utilized in order to expose his enemies with! When DipSet A&R Spliff heard the beat, he presented it to Cam who instantly gravitated towards its energy and decided to use it for his album. This groundbreaking beat proved to be the start of a beautiful relationship between Ebonikz and the rest of the DipSet family.

In fact, a large majority of Ebonikz work was done for the DipSet camp. He has made beats for Juelz Santana, JR Writer, Jim Jones, 40 Cal and Hell Rell. Tracks such as "Do it for the Hustlers" from Hell Rell's album "For the Hell of It", the "Intro" "Goonies" "Back Wit It" on JR Writers album "History in the Making", and "Gone" from Juelz Santana's platinum plaque receiving album "What the Games Been Missing". Yet, the hits do not stop there. A-Team fans most certainly heard Ebonikz beats when listening to one of their favorite Hitchcock and Ransom tracks. Other artists have essentially followed in the footsteps of Ebonikz's clientele and have received beats that have remnants of a Brooklyn like swagger on the track. Young Jeezy along with the rest of the U.S.D.A. crew (Slick Pulla & Blood Raw) all have used beats produced by Ebonikz.
Blessing each track with a tag that says "Ebonikz" in the beginning, Ebonikz works diligently on his MP and Fruity Loops to create snare, horn, and sampled filled beats that deserve to be laced by hip hops best lyricists. Although, Ebonikz caters to all genres such as R&B and Club music and does not limit himself nor his capabilities to only producing hip hop hits. Ebonikz offers a large variety of hip hop beats that other beat makers may lack in. Whether its radio plays or something for the streets, Ebonikz has definitely discovered his knack in the lab and can create beats that any artist is looking for. Due to his passionate approach with his work Ebonikz finds it difficult to finish a beat in its entirety. "One of the hardest parts for me is actually finishing a beat. You're really never done with a beat, you can always add more to it".
On the whole, Ebonikz is already three years into the game. At the young age of 20 he has merely scratched the surface of his great potential and talent. While Ebonikz may believe that there is so much more an individual can add and do to a beat, coincidentally there is so much more he is adding and doing to the game with his exceptional skill. Currently he is working on accomplishing his goal on getting hit singles on the radio. With his talent sooner or later Elijah Scott will have everyone speaking "Ebonikz"!
